Volunteers...

Our volunteers are listed on the lookup page. They are few in number, but many hands make light work. My contribution is keeping the website up to date. We sincerely hope you will join us in this endeavor and make just one small commitment to do one of the following:

1. Do lookups at your local library for obituaries. This is done when a person requests it through email. Many people find long lost relatives this way. I have done a few hundred of these throught the years and it is very rewarding. I can't do it all. Please help.

2. Take photos of gravemarkers near your home. Many people have digital cameras that make it easy to take a simple photo of a grave marker. This can mean a lot to someone from another state who cannot travel to take a photo. This is done through email also.

3. Transcribe obituaries. Look at the wonderful data HERE that Kerry Hallas submitted a few years ago. The data now resides on our site for people to view and take advantage of information that will help them find their family history.

4. Gather cemetery data. Contact a local Orange County Cemetery and ask if you can put their data online, or, walk the cemtery gathering headstone information. Check out the Tombstone Project first to make sure the cemetery has not already been done.
