DEATHS

BURIED AT SAWTELLE—Funeral services were held yesterday at Santa Monica for Mrs. Susan Robinson, aged 65 years.  Interment was made in the cemetery at Sawtelle.  Mrs. Robinson died suddenly Sunday night.  She formerly was Mrs. Susan Anderson of Huntington Beach.  She was the mother of Joe Anderson, tire dealer of this city, and Mrs. Ruby McDonnald, of Sawtelle.

BIXBY—Chester F. Bixby, aged 34 years, at his home on Sullivan street, May 5, 1921.  Services will be held tomorrow, Saturday, May 7, at 2:00 p.m. from Smith and Tuthill’s chapel.  Interment at Long Beach.  The deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dora A. Bixby.

 

FRANK—At the family home in Tustin, Ruth Frank, aged 19 months, May 6, 1921, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S.M. Frank.  Services conducted by the Rev. F.T. Porter, will be held from the Mills and Winbigler Mission Funeral home, tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock.

 

PURVIS—J.C. Purvis, aged 72 years, May 6, 1921, at his residence, 1321 East Second street.  The family have been here but a few weeks.  He leaves a wife and one son in Kansas.  A son, Frank Purvis, passed away here only two weeks ago.  Mr. Purvis has been ill with pneumonia only a week.  The remains are being prepared by Mills and Winbigler for interment at Colby, Kansas.

 

LONG—At 208 A street, Tustin, May 6, 1921, Frank Palmer Long, aged 44 years, son of Mr. and Mrs. N.S. Long.  Services will be held from the Mills and Winbigler Mission Funeral home, Monday, May 9, at 2 p.m.  Interment in Fairhaven cemetery.

MORRISON—Charles Gesford, aged 44, former resident of Santa Ana, at 219 East Forty-second street, Los Angeles, May 6, 1921.  Funeral services Monday afternoon from the W.A. Brown undertaking parlors, Los Angeles.

MILLER—Mack A. Miller, 817 North Parton street, aged 49 years, May 8, 1921, at the Anaheim hospital.  Services will be held tomorrow, May 10, at 10 a.m., from Smith and Tuthill’s chapel.  Services at the grave under the auspices of the M.W.A.

 

LOPTIEN—Mrs. Minnie E. Loptien, aged 46 years, at Bakersfield, May 6, 1921.  Services will be held tomorrow, May 10, at 2 p.m. from the Christian church at Orange, with Smith and Tuthill in charge.  The deceased is survived by a husband, C.F. Loptien; two brothers, Louis C. and Neally Watson; and two half-brothers, Mark j. and W.O. Field, all of Olive.

 

LUDWICK—Mrs. Lucy A. Ludwick, aged 77 years, at her residence, 507 West Fifth street, May 8, 1921.  Mrs. Ludwick leaves three daughters, Mrs. A.M. McDermott, Mrs. Pearl Morris and Miss Mary Ludwick.  Services by the Rev. John Oliver will be held from the Mills and Winbigler Mission Funeral home tomorrow, May 10, at 2:30 p.m.  Interment in Fairhaven cemetery.

 

ARMSTRONG—In Los Angeles, May 7, 1921, Harlan James Armstrong, aged 15 months, son of Mr. and Mrs. R.J. Armstrong, formerly of Santa Ana.  The family had been in Los Angeles but a short time.  Mr. Armstrong being connected with the Homer Toberman mission.  Services in charge of Mills and Winbigler, were held from the Spurgeon Memorial church this afternoon at 3 o’clock.  Interment was made in Fairhaven cemetery.

 

WALSH—In Los Angeles, May 7, 1921, Mrs. Ida Walsh, aged 34 years, wife of Cleveland Walsh and daughter of Mrs. Hester McKinzie of Santa Ana.  Services from Mills and Winbigler Mission Funeral home, Wednesday, May 11, at 2 p.m.  Interment in Fairhaven cemetery.

 

TILDEN—At El Modena, May 9, 1921, J.B. Tilden, aged 83 years, father of Mrs. E.G. Hertert of El Modena and S.J. Tilden of Nebraska.  The remains are being prepared by Mills and Winbigler for interment at Schuyler, Nebraska.

 

FUNERAL NOTICE—The Royal Neighbor lodge desires that all its members attend the funeral of Mr. Mack A. Miller, a member, who passed away yesterday at the Anaheim hospital.  The funeral will be held tomorrow morning, Tuesday,  at 10 o’clock from Smith and Tuthill’s chapel.

GARNER—At Newhope, May 13, 1921, George Catrick Garner, aged 3 years, child of Mrs. S.L. Garner.  The death followed a very brief illness.  Mills and Winbigler are preparing the body for interment at Ventura.  The family will leave Santa Ana tomorrow morning by automobile and services will be held in Oxnard.

Liggett, aged 76 years, at his home in West Orange, May 22, 1921.  Services will be held tomorrow, May 24 at 10 a.m., from Smith and Tuthill’s chapel.  The deceased is survived by five sons, C.W., of Albany, Ore., E.R. and W.H., of San Pedro, D.E., of Santa Ana, and J.A. Liggett, of Portland; and three daughters, Mmes. Robert Milton and Clyde Hopkins of Los Angeles, and Miss Annie Liggett of Santa Ana.

Walworth.  Services will be held Tuesday, May 31, at 10:30 o’clock from Smith and Tuthill’s chapel.  The Rev. John Oliver of the First Methodist church will officiate.  Interment at Fairhaven.

HARDING—Mrs. Jennie Harding, at Newport, May 30, 1921.  Arrangements for the funeral services at the Mills and Winbigler chapel will be announced upon the arrival of Mr. Harding from Imperial.

 

COLLINS—J. Hale Collins, 1310 East Fourth street, aged 68 years, May 30, 1921.  Services will be held Saturday, June 4, at 3:30 p.m., from Smith and Tuthill’s chapel.

 

GREEN—O.E. Green, West Orange, aged 79 years, May 29, 1921.  Services were held yesterday at 2 p.m., from the Friends church at Alamitos.  Interment was made at Westminster cemetery.  Smith and Tuthill were in charge.

 

COLE—Almon J. Cole, 1046 West Second street, aged 82 years, May 29, 1921.  Services were held today at 2 p.m. from Smith and Tuthill’s chapel.  The Rev. John Oliver officiated.  The body will be sent to Charles City, Ia., for interment.

 

NOE—Wayne Noe, Santa Rosa, aged 17 years, May 27, 1921.  Services were held today at 3:30 p.m. from Smith and Tuthill’s chapel.
